NZPA-AAP Sydney Australian sharemarkets closed slightly easier in mixed trading marked by profit-tak-ing in the resource sector and sharp gains in selected industrial stocks. Brokers said the market held up well following Thursday’s surge. A number of small special sales in leading stocks — BHP, Bell Resources, Pioneer Concrete, National Australia Bank — added colour to trading.
