Record yields
Further evidence of the Australian Reserve Bank’s tight money policy as well as an impending rise in interest rates were apparent this week as yields on Treasury note security paper reached' threeyear highs. Treasury notes take a. major role in the formation of both retail and wholesale interest rate patterns. The 13-week notes went at an average of 16.172 per cent from 15.206 per cent last week while 26-week paper went at 16.232 per cent from 15.196 per cent.
