FUTURES P.C.P.s busy

The Prime commerccial paper (P.C.P.) contract was busy yesterday as call rates rose and investors anticipated tighter liquidity as the tax draw-off drew near, said Mr Geoff McDonnell, the manager of Mair Futures. The United States dollar contract was quiet yesterday after the New Zealand dollar had lost about US2.5c in the last two weeks.

The foreign exchange market appeared particularly settled at the moment, and there might not be any major movement up or down for some time yet, he said. Wool futures prices firmed 1c to be 4c to 5c above their lows of last week. SUS CONTRACTS
