Barnett top darts player
New Zealand’s leading woman darts player, Lillian Barnett, of Timaru, is ranked No. 1 woman in the latest listings released by the World Darts Federation. In the latest edition of “Darts World” magazine, Barnett has 26 points, four ahead of Linda Batten, of England, and Kathy Karpowich, of the United States. Wins in the Pacific Masters and Royal Hawaiian tournaments late last year have earned Barnett her top ranking. However, in the British Darts Organisation rankings, published in the same magazine, Barnett is only ranked seventh equal. These rankings are based largely on results of British and European competitions. Barnett has not competed in these events.
