Although the Canterbury captain, Don Hayes, still had his head swathed in bandages yesterday, all members of the touring party are likely to be considered for the second match of Canterbury’s northern rugby tour, against Waikato on Wednesday. Hayes had his right ear badly cut by sprigs in the twelfth minute of the match against Counties, won by Canterbury, 19-15, and left the field temporarily for treatment.
