Appeal disallowed
PA Auckland An appeal by the owners of Band Leader against the relegation of the horse from first to third in the Second Pukete Maiden at Te Rapa on July 27 has been disallowed. The appeal was heard before a sub-committee of the Waikato district committee at Te Rapa on Saturday. A decision of the judicial committee of the Waikato Racing Club that interference
by Band Leader to County Tu
in the last 75m had affected the latter’s chances was upheld. Band Leader was first past the post from Trimatic and County Tu, but at an inquiry was put back to third. The sub-committee ordered the appellants, Mr and Mrs W. J. Odium, to pay costs of $350, but directed that their deposit of $lOO be used as part-pay-ment.
