Manager resigns
NZPA-Reuter London Jack Charlton quit as manager of English first division Newcastle United on Saturday after the club’s game against second division Sheffield United. The former England international defender told the Newcastle chairman, Stan Seymour, that he was resigning after he was booed and criticised by the crowd during the 1-1 draw.
