Impressive darts
PA Rotorua Ron te Moananui of Otago produced a spectacular 130 finish to capture the mixed pairs final at the DB Draught New Zealand Darts Championship at Rotorua. Te Moananui finished with a triple 20, single 20 and a bullseye to win the title from the Nelson-Marlborough combination of M. Barclay and P. Norman. Earlier the husband and wife championship was won by John and Clare Lines, of Auckland, who had defeated the seven-time winners, John and Mattie Wilkie, in their semifinal.
At the end of the day’s competition a total of 166 possibles of 180 had been struck by men and 25 by women.
