The unit contains a new Zeiss 902 TEM using electron spectroscopic imaging, and with access to a Cambridge 250 SEM at the University of Canterbury. As the unit is a regional facility, the successful applicant will be versatile and expected to actively foster and develop co-operative projects with scientists in the fields of applied biology throughout the area. It is expected that the appointee will continue personal research interests, but that they should be orientated towards the objectives of various research organisations at Lincoln. Qualifications: Applicants should hold a doctoral degree and have post-graduate research experience in electron microscopy, preferably including a background in microanalysis, image analysis, and cryotechniques. Location: The unit is located at Canterbury Agriculture and Science Centre, Lincoln, about 25km south-east of Christchurch. Research groups located at Lincoln include Crop Research, Entomology Applied Biochemistry and Plant Diseases Divisions of DSIR, Plant Health Diagnostic Station, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Wool Research Organisation and Lincoln Agricultural College.
