Applicants would be expected to have an appropriate post-graduate university qualification and he or she will be required to teach and to conduct research in the Business Studies programme. The philosophy of the Business Studies programme is vigorously inter-disciplinary. There are separate departments of Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Management, and Administration. Applicants with qualifications and appropriate experience and research in the areas of General Management, Instructional Systems, Human Resource Development and Training and Development will be considered. The appointee w’ill also have the opportunity to be actively Involved with the business community and the public sector by participating in the activities of the Business Computer Systems Research Centre and the Management, Education and Development Centre. The successful applicant would be expected to teach courses in anaesthesia, fluid therapy and intensive care to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He/she would administer anaesthetics to clinical cases and occasionally assist with surgery. The Department plans to expand this area and It Is expected that a junior assistant in anaesthesia will be approved in 1986-87, thus allowing incumbent an opportunity to pursue research interests. The applicant need not necessarily have had extensive postgraduate experience in anaesthesiology as a training period may be allowed a person with otherwise good academic record.
