Band Leader appeal
PA Hamilton An appeal has been lodged against the relegation of Band Leader from first to third in the Second Pukete Handicap at the Waikato Racing Club's meeting at Te Rapa on Saturday, July 27. No date has yet been set for the hearing of the appeal which was lodged yesterday by the owners of Band Leader, Mr and Mrs W.Odlum. If the appeal is successful it will take the tally of the jockey, Peter Johnson, to 100 wins for the season just concluded. Johnson, who rode Band Leader at Te Rapa, ended the season last week on 99 wins.
