Annual sales are in excess of $7OO million and there are 2,000 employees. Whilst the company is based on the dairy industry it has diversified into a wide range of additional fields. New product, new venture and other development activities occur regularly, backed by excellent financial resources. The Personnel Manager will take responsibility group-wide for the personnel function in its broadest sense (apart from industrial relations which is currently covered by another executive). Establishment of the personnel function has progressed well over the last few years, with a high calibre team. However, a significant amount of further development is still required, particularly in extension of up to date personnel policies to subsidiary units. Planning for long term corporate strategies is also most important. The appointee must ensure the continued professionalism and effectiveness of the personnel team so that it is capable of providing a full range of specialist services within what is a dynamic environment. The position demands a top flight personnel executive, probably aged mid-thirties to late forties, with a record of accomplishment at senior level in a large organisation. Personal qualities must include a high degree of intelligence, communicative skill, maturity of judgement and operating style and the capacity to function flexibly at all levels. Appropriate tertiary qualifications are expected. Relocation expenses will be reimbursed if applicable.
