Lyttelton tank report made
An official report into the Lyttelton oil tank explosion last month is with the Minister of Labour, Mr Rodger. Mr Rodger was handed the report from the national deputy chief inspector of explosives, Mr Graham Collins, yesterday morning. He will decide whether or when to release the report publicly once he has studied it. The Lyttelton Harbour Residents’ . Association,
which wants the Mobil pumping station and tank installation to be resited, will delay any further action until the report is released. After meeting the member of Parliament for Lyttelton, Mrs Ann Hercus, on Saturday, the association decided to hold another public meeting if necessay once the report’s recommendations are known.
