CFM off list The shares of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, Ltd, have been removed from the Stock Exchange list, following virtual completition of the take-over by Apex Group, Ltd. The CFM debenture stock remains listed. Retired Mr R. H. Busfield has retired as chairman of directors of Farmers Trading Company, Ltd. Mr Busfield, who has been chairman for 14 years, will be succeeded by Mr A. L. Laidlaw, the deputy chairman. Dr C. J. Maiden will become deputy chairman. Mr Busfield will continue as a director. Smolt released After a record year of salmon returns, N.Z. Marine Farms, Ltd, has completed releasing thousands of juvenile quinnat salmon smolt back into the Hurunui River. Most of the smolt released are from the company’s own fish stocks raised at its farm site on the Sisters, a tributary of the Hurunui. A percentage of the fish will return in the next two or three years.
Wenrich ends Wenrich Investments, Ltd, completed its acquisition of shares in the Brugger Group yesterday. Wenrich said that it now held all shares in the group except for the 22 per cent interest in Brugger Industries, Ltd, held by the Australian company of Hendersons Federal Spring Works, Pty, Ltd. Closed The $8 million Greenhouse Park floricultural issue has closed, with public subscriptions exceeding 80 per cent of the total sought. New Zealand Equities, Ltd, the underwriters to the issue, along with a group of private investors, will take up the balance of the issue. Hot pool sale Leisureland Corporation, Ltd, has completed negotiations to buy the Waiwera Hot Pool Complex in North Auckland. The directors of Leisureland had actively sought investment opportunities in lei-sure-related activities to complement the company’s Footrot Flats leisure park at Te Atatu, the directors said.
