Accord rests on its laurels
N.Z.M.C. Ltd, will allow its Honda Accord range to rest on its reputation this year. The range has a well established reputation in the market and the changes for this year represent fine tuning and styling updates, according to N.Z.M.C’s general manager, Bruce Carson. All models have been given new trim, with that in the coupe and four door LX models now being the same as that used in the 1984 EX versions. The new EX has a more luxurious interior.
All the new Accords are fitted with the 1.8 litre 12 valve engine and the LX automatic versions have speed sensitive powerassisted steering, which was a standard fitment on EX models only last year. The EX versions now have electrically-operated windows and a stereocassette radio with programme seeker and touchsensitive selectors. N.Z.M.C. has not distributed a price list to accompany its 1985 model announcement.
