Pilots will be able to sit exam.

PA Wellington Cancelled August commercial pilots’ examinations will be reinstated, says the Minister of Transport, Mr Prebble. The Civil Aviation Division of the Ministry of Transport had to cancel the examinations because of a shortage of examiners. “The division has made a strenuous effort to find extra examiners and has obtained the services of two more,” Mr Prebble said. The division was still understaffed, but the Government was trying to improve staff levels. The three-monthly examination service was one which few other countries could match and it was greatly appreciated by the aviation industry. “The student pilots and the flying schools will be particularly delighted by this announcement,” Mr Prebble said.
