Surprise selection
PA Auckland Mike Allred (Burnside) is a surprise selection in the national boys’ squash team, which will play three tests against Australia in August. Allred finished second in the under-19 section of the national age championships which finished at Henderson
tonight. He defeated secondseeded Shane Hagan (Khandallah) to make the final, in which he lost to Lance Cooper (Mitchell Park), 9-4, 9-1, 9-1. The full side is Allred, Cooper, Hagan and Glen Wilson (Maidstone). The first test is in Christchurch on August 16.
