‘Miss New Zealand’ has jewellery stolen
PA Auckland “Miss New Zealand,” Sheri Le Fleming Burrow, has had most of her personal jewellery stolen from her Howick home. She has been left with just a watch, a diamond and sapphire ring she won for being “Miss Auckland,” and a gold watch chain, which she was wearing when family jewellery valued at $50,000 was stolen from their house. “They got everything that
I treasure,” said Miss Le Fleming Burrow. Four bedrooms in the house were searched by a burglar who forced a bedroom window. Miss Le Fleming Burrow lost her $6OOO emerald and diamond ring which came with other prizes in the national contest. Also taken were a gold chain valued at $lOOO and a garnet necklace she was given for her birthday by her father.
