Hydro lakes down 2%
PA Wellington Water storage fell 2 per cent to 67 per cent of nominal full in New Zealand last week, said the Ministry of Energy’s Electricity Division yesterday. Rainfall raised hydro storage 5 per cent to 73 per cent nominal full in the North Island while South Island storage fell 4 per cent to 66 per cent. The cost of electricity generated by thermal stations last week was estimated at $4,210,800, compared with $3,900,300 for the previous week.
