Samasaan unlikely for Timaru

By

J. J. BOYLE

Samasaan is an unlikely runner in the Donald Grant Handicap at the Timaru Racing Club’s meeting on Friday. He is booked to fly north with his stablemate In the Glen today and will run in the Parliamentary Handicap on the second day of the Wellington winter meeting. It was not possible to arrange a flight for the promising Garth Jacksontrained stayer that would have allowed a start at Washdyke as a lead-up to the Parliamentary. Another reinforcement to the South Island team for the second day of the Wellington meeting will be Young Nick, an impressive last-start winner at Ashburton. This younger brother of the good winner Queen’s Pal will travel at the week-end.
