IBM ad. wins award
IBM’s Charlie Chaplin advertisement, “Skates,” has won a gold medal and grand award at an annual film and television festival in New York. “Skates” is the latest advertisement, to be seen in New Zealand promoting IBM’s Personal Computer. The commercial has been praised for its art direction and copy writing. In the commercial factory employees, under the watchful eyes of the Charlie Chaplin character, lurch and swerve around the plant floor on roller skates in a chaotic ballet. After an IBM Personal Computer is installed, however, harmony reigns supreme, both organisationally and musically.
