The receiving colour bearer, Flying Officer Nick Thomas, parades the (Men’s Colour to the squadrons at the Royal New Zealand Air Force base, Wigram, in the Queen’s Birthday parade yesterday. The Queen’s Colour was transferred to the R.N.Z.A.F. base, Wigram, by the R.N.Z.A.F. base, Ohakea, which has held the colour for the last 12 months. Presented to the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1953 and replaced in 1976, the Queen’s Colour is held by each base for a year.
