Career Positions in Market Development The Market Development Division of the New Zealand Railways Corporation is expanding its activities to ensure success within the increasingly competitive world of freight transport. Market Managers are being appointed to specialise in specified market segments such as bulk products, building products, manufactured goods, agricultural products, distribution services or Searail. Each of these requires the development of an effective marketing plan for the achievement of an annual turnover in the $5O-s6om range. We seek applicants who hold some tertiary qualifications in commerce, marketing or economics and with proven marketing and business experience. They would be capable of undertaking major customer contacts, identifying the transport needs of the market, preparing marketing plans for implementation and the monitoring of progress and results. Initiative and innovative ideas will also be sought as each Market Manager will be required to establish and develop the portfolio to its full potential.
