Man presumed drowned

PA Wellington The Wellington police have released the name of an American tourist who fell from a Cook Strait ferry last Friday, and is still missing, presumed drowned. He was Milton Windsor Harris, aged 44, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mr Harris, a wholesaler, was thought to have been travelling through New Zealand alone at the time of the accident. Mr Harris was seen to fall from an upper deck of the Wellington-bound ferry Arahura late on Friday night as she steamed south of Karori Rock. Onlookers told the police that Mr Harris had been vomiting over the side during a bout of seasickness. A large-scale search on Friday night and Saturday failed to find any trace of him.
