Prisoner still at large
The Christchurch police still seek an inmate who escaped from Paparua Prison on Monday morning. He is Alan James Mallach, aged 20, who is not regarded as dangerous.
He is described as European, of medium build, 174 cm tall, with red hair and blue eyes. He has a scar on the palm of the right hand and the little finger of that hand is missing.
