Royal salute in park
A 21-gun salute will be fired in North Hagley Park at midday on Monday by the Army to mark the Queen’s official birthday. A section of three guns from 32(E) Battery, 3 Field Regiment, Royal New Zealand Artillery, will fire the 21-gun salute near the Armagh Street bridge.
School cadets of St Andrew’s College and Christ’s College will be with the firing detachments for the exercise. Territorial Force soldiers will fire the salute using the MIOIAI 105 mm howitzers. The firing will be under the command of Major Nick Thornton.
