Strict soccer security
NZPA-Reuter Brussels Brussels is bracing itself for an influx of more than 40,006 British and Italian soccer fans with a huge security operation aimed at preventing the violence that occurred when England’s Tottenham played in the city last year. Police said up to 1000
officers and paramilitary gendarmes would be on duty at ports and airports and on the streets of the Belgian capital for tomorrow’s European Champions’ Cup final between Liverpool and Juventus of Turin. Strict segregation will be the rule from the moment the fans arrive in Belgium.
