Rojeeni appeal fails
PA Wellington A second appeal against the relegation of Rojeeni in the South Island Thoroughbred Breeder’s Stakes at Riccarton in February has failed.
Rojeeni finished third in the race but was relegated to fourth on the day by the Canterbury Jockey Club’s judicial committee. Rojeeni’s connections subsequently appealed to the Canterbury District Committee against the judicial committee’s decision. On the dismissal of that appeal, their next step was to the appeal judges of the Racing Conference.
The appeal judges yesterday upheld the finding of the district committee. No order for costs was made but the appeal deposit of $lOO was ordered to be forfeited.
