Burndale’s cup game
Burndale United the only Canterbury team below the Hertz League remaining in the Le Coq Sportif Chatham Cup soccer competition has been drawn at home against the struggling New Brighton in the second round proper on May 25. Having already eliminated one of the leading southern league clubs, KLM Cashmere, last week-end, Burndale must fancy its chances against a New Brighton side which has managed only four goals in
its six league matches this winter. The toughest match among the second round ties will be the contest between Hurricane Rangers and Cockram Nissan Shamrock, at Rangers Park. Rangers won their league clash recently 2-1, and the two teams lie first and second respectively in the southern league. In the other second round match, Woolston W.M.C. will meet Nomads United, at Garrick Park.
