Whitcoulls is the major subsidiary of BRIERLEY INVESTMENTS LTD and is a market leader in the packaging and printing industry. The Production Division produces and sells cardboard and flexible packaging, books, stationery and general printing through ten factories and fifteen profit centres. The division is currently decentralising into four autonomous areas and accounting functions are to be developed both within the areas and Divisional Head Office. The Chief Accountant will report to the General Manager, and will be required to analyse divisional accounting needs, develop the accounting function and resources and thereafter contribute to the profitable growth of the division through control and direction of the financial and management accounting functions. Specific accountabilities include: Development of DP Financial Systems: Budgeting: Cash Flow Forecasts: Preparation of Annual and Half Yearly Financial Accounts: Establishment of Management Reporting Systems and the direction and motivation of accounting staff. The location Is Christchurch until late 1986, when the Head Office will be relocated in Auckland. REQUIREMENTS: 0 Proven successful financial and management accounting experience, preferably in a multi-divi-sional environment. • B.Com. and/or ACA Qualifications. • End user experience with EDP financial systems. • Strong management capabilities backed by sound commercial acumen. • Age range flexible, but preferably 30-45.
