Concrete plant fire
Greymouth reporter Damage estimated at $400,000 was caused in a fire which razed part of the Westland Readymix concrete plant at South Beach, Greymouth, on Monday evening. A shed, four concretemixer trucks, and two load-
ers were destroyed in the blaze. The company now has only one mixer truck, a truck which had been parked in an adjoining shed. Detective W. R. Thiele, of the Greymouth C. 1.8., said that the fire appeared to have been started using accelerants, the flames spreading along the ground beneath the trucks.
The police would like to hear from anyone in the area who may have noticed anything unusual between 10 p.m. and 12.45 a.m. I House-to-house inquiries • were made in the South [ Beach area yesterday.
