Tour protests

Sir,—Upon reading the Saturday (“The Press, May 4”) I was disappointed with the lack of specification in the articles concerning the pro and anti-rugby tour demonstration. The arrest of a “disorderly bystander” (page 1), the group from which eggs and other objects were thrown and the injured victim of such a thrown object were not declared as of one or other opinion. To me this is important information which is obvious at the scene of such incidents. The report has wrongly neglected much of what is needed to inform the public and leaves one with the impression that if certain people did not voice their opinion we would have none of these troubles. Also printing the conservative estimates of crowd numbers taken by the police is rather misleading. It would be better for the reporter to ge| into the habit of

taking his or her own estimates, or those from demonstration leaders and police. — Yours, etc., C. OREL. May 7, 1985.
