First sign of reform — a pub
NZPA-Reuter Budapest An English-style pub complete with dartboard and piano will open in Budabest in the next few days under economic reforms in Communist Hungary that encourage private enterprises.
Office workers and other potential customers thronged the tavern, called the Frigate, during the trial opening, suggesting that Hungary’s first such venture will be a success. The owner-managers, Laszlo Kommer, aged 37, and Gabor Dobrentei, aged 36, poured their savings into the project and raised a big bank loan to lease and furnish the premises.
