Murder odds in U.S.

A black man in the United States is 17 times more likely to be murdered than is a white woman, according to official statistics.
The average United States citizen has a one in 133 chance of being murdered. For black men, the rate is one in 21; white men, one in 131; for black women, one in 104; and for white women, one in 369.
