Canty nominates 12
Canterbury has made 12 nominations for this year’s New Zealand Colts rugby team, which will undertake an internal tour next month and finish with a match against Australia Colts in Auckland. The team will be named after a trial at Levin on Saturday, June 15. All 12 of Canterbury’s nominations are town senior players and four of them are from the Linwood club.
They are the backs, Steven Bachop, Andrew McCormick and Greg Jones, and the forward, Phil Cropper. The other eight are Greg Coffey, Richard Connell (both Marist) and Jeremy Sprott (High School Old Boys), who are backs, and Phil Carrodus (Old Boys), Tom Coughlan (Lincoln College), Andrew Maze (Meri-vale-Papanui), Grant Mickel (Shirley), and Rob Penny (Burnside), who are all forwards.
