Six-hitting schoolboy
Christchurch Boys’ High School has a king-hitter in its third grade cricket ranks. Dougal Ferguson might not be Sir Garfield Sobers or Ravi Shastri, but he came close to emulating their feats of scoring six sixes in one over against St Albans in a third grade match on Saturday. Boys’ High made 132 for two in its second innings
against St Albans, Ferguson compiling an unbeaten 82 which included 32 off one over — five sixes and a two. It was a high scoring game, with 479 runs being made on the second day. Boys’ High set St Albans a chase of 216 in 80 minutes and 20 overs, and St Albans reached its target in fading light.
