New branch of D.S.I.R.
PA Wellington A new branch of the D.5.1.R., the Division of Information Technology, has started. The director of the new division, Dr Peter Ellis, said the division had been formed “to make sure we gain the maximum advantage from the rapidly developing information technologies.” Dr Ellis said the D.S.I.R. was already able to link into computers belonging to its sister organisation in Australia, the Com-: monwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation.
