Sir,—The United States has offered its treaty partners and the Japanese and Israelis a share in the research for the “star wars” defence plan. It might cynically be suggested that what is really offered is a share of the guilt for the physical and economic threats to humankind which are posed by the weapons and anti-weapons technologies. — Yours, etc.,
