Top game in luxury liner
NZPA-Reuter London Ten top poker players will be asked to play a million-dollar winner-takes-all game in the British luxury liner Queen Elizabeth 2, a gambling promoter said.
The game will probably last two days during a voyage from New York to Southampton, England, starting on June 28, said Hugh Howard of the pro-
motion company, Tuesday Night, Ltd, which is organising the tournament with the shipping line, Cunard. The 10 players have yet to be selected, but most will probably be American. Each will have to provide about $217,000 towards the purse. Three television companies — American, Japanese, and British — are negotiating rights to televise the match.
