Basketball success
The Converse Canterbury senior men’s basketball league team was unbeaten in two games at a triangular tournament held at Nelson over the week-end. However, the women’s league team lost both matches, both by narrow margins.
On Saturday the men’s team beat Bowater NissanNelson 108-87 after leading 68-42 at half-time. Yesterday Canterbury wrapped up the tournament by defeating 2ZB Centrals (Wellington) 111-81. Canterbury led at half-time, 53-42.
It was an encouraging performance for Canterbury with the first league game only two weeks away.
