In the background is the judge of the competition, Mr Rex Mundy, who takes over as managing director of Gardenway Nurseries next month. The plant has produced 1720 tomatoes, which easily beats the world record of 1208 tomatoes listed in the Guinness Book of Records. An application for a new record will be made by Mr O’Leary.
