Level of awards
Wellington reporter Of the 115 awards settled in the wage round at February 22, only 14 were above the Government’s guideline, said the Minister of Labour, Mr Rodger, yestersday in response to a question in Parliament by Mr George Gair (National, North Shore). He said that one award, the meat workers, had been settled below 6 per cent, 45 at 6.5 per cent, 14 to 7 per cent, and 41 at 7.5 per cent.
Four were settled at 8 per cent, two at 8.5, one at 9, two at 9.5, four at 10, and one at more than 10 per cent.
