Mr Walding at funeral
PA Wellington New Zealand will be
represented at the funeral of President Chernenko by the High Commissioner in London, Mr Joe Walding, said the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, yesterday. “Joe Walding’s close involvement with the development of our relationship with the Soviet Union during the term of the third Labour Government makes him an ideal person to represent New Zealand on this solemn occasion,” Mr Lange said.
The funeral will be held in Moscow at 1 p.m. today (local time).
