Decision to set up rural viewdata

PA Wellington Federated Farmers has decided to establish a national viewdata system for the rural community. The president of Federated Farmers, Mr Peter Elworthy, confirmed the decision after a Dominion council meeting. “The federation believes that the development of a comprehensive viewdata system can bring significant benefits not only to farmers but to the entire rural community,” Mr Elworthy said. “The decision is the outcome of several months of intensive investigation and consideration of a detailed report. “Federated farmers will continue to work with the Bureau of Primary Information to finalise arrangements for the development of the system,” he said.
