Two withdraw
The captain, Rod Fulton, and Paul McEwan have both withdrawn from the Canterbury cricket team to meet the New Zealand under 19 team in a threeday match at Lancaster Park starting tomorrow. Fulton is. still nursing a wrist injury which has bothered him most of the season. Their replacements are the St Albans pair, Geoff Smith and Mark Priest. In Fulton’s absence, the captaincy has gone to
the wicket-keeper, Ash Hart. Craig Thiele, Garry McDonald and Vaughan Brown were other Shell Series players not available for Canterbury. Another member, David Hartshorn, is in the national under 19 side.
The Canterbury team is: Hart (captain), Anup Nathu, Ray Jones, Priest, Smith, Rod Latham, James Shipley, Warren Eddington, Steve Bateman, Steve McNally and Andy Nuttall.
