NZPA-AAP Melbourne Australia’s women cricketers took less than four hours to wrap up a nine-wicket win over New Zealand one-day international yesterday. The Australian women, fresh from their first test series win over England, bundled New Zealand out for 58, and the openers, Denise Emerson and Denise Annetts, almost singlehandedly took Australia to the win.

Emerson was out for 25 as Australia cruised to 59 for one in just 70 minutes.

Karen Price, of New South Wales, and the South Australian left arm spinner, Lynette Fullston, dominated the Australian bowling.

Price took two for five in 10 overs, while Fullston’ took four for 19 off 12 overs.

The top scorer for New Zealand was Jeanette Dunning with 20.
