Sockburn had its second successful defence of the Lion Brown Challenge Trophy when it beat Johnstons, 117-94, in a match between the two indoor cricket centres. The “players of the match” were Dean Hamilton (Sock-
burn) and Phil Wesley (Johnstons). Sockburn’s successes continued in the other matches. The B team overwhelmed Johnstons B, 141-29, and the women beat their Johnstons counterparts, 171-122.
