Violence-free Greymouth endorsed

The Greymouth Borough Council has reaffirmed its opposition to all violence in its area. An Australian member of Parliament, Mr Robert Tickner, sought support from local bodies on both sides of the Tasman for a nuclear-free Pacific, in a letter received by the council on Monday evening. The Mayor, Dr B. M. Dallas, said that earlier the council had expressed its opposition to all forms of violence, when asked to declare a nuclear-free zone.
