Omission
Words were accidentally omitted from a report about the National Party leadership in yesterday’s edition of “The Press.”
The report said that Mr Gair’s support was probably strongest among members of Parliament — a statement which was immediately contradicted by the observation that Mr Jim Bolger may have a larger following in the caucus than Mr Gair. The Gair sentence should have said that Mr Gair’s .support was strongest among National’s new members of Parliament. He is said to have the support of five of the seven.
