Soky’s Atom arrives
PA Auckland Soky’s Atom, which will command the highest price for a standardbred stallion in New Zealand, at $5OOO a service, arrived in Auckland yesterday after his flight from Toronto, Canada. He was remarkably fresh after spending 38 hours on the aircraft. Owned by the National Bloodstock Corporation Ltd, Soky’s Atom will begin his stud duties at Heritage Farm, 30 miles south of Auckland. Soky’s Atom, will begin his stud duties in a few days. He has a restricted book of 60 mares to New Zealand-time matings, among them the well-per-formed Del’s Dream and Egmont Inanga, a Imin 57.9 s mile performer in Australia. Another is Rita Hal, the dam of the Cup-class pacer, John Tudor. The Albatross entire, will also service 20 mares to American time matjhgs.
